Skinner's By-Pass

SKINNER'S BY-PASS - The intersection of NC 11/55 with US 70 just south of Downtown Kinston.  Located on the US 70 Bypass of Kinston, Skinner's By-pass is most likely named after Ernest “Guy” Skinner, Jr., who operated a gas station and automobile repair shop at the intersection.  A veteran of World War II, Skinner also served in the Civil Air Patrol.  Skinner passed away at the age of 99 in 2017.
