Old Hampton Store & BBQ

There are numerous old general stores still in operation throughout the mountains of North Carolina, and just off of US 221 in Linville is the Old Hampton Store.  The Old Hampton Store and Grist Mill was once a stop along the East Tennessee & Western North Carolina Railroad.  The general store dates to 1920 and has become a great destination for Western NC-style BBQ, live music, and the goods of many local artisans from pottery, jams, jellies, and cheeses.
