2012 NC Blueberry Festival
The 9th Annual NC Blueberry Festival takes place every year in Burgaw. Started as a way to honor the historic, cultural, and economic significance that Blueberries have in Southeastern North Carolina, the festival regularly attracts over 30,000 people every June to the small town of Burgaw.
Each year the festival features a 5k, BBQ cookoff, classic car show, antique sale, local crafts and artist, great local musical entertainment, great food, and of course blueberries!
One of the featured bands this year was the Craig Woolard Band.
They had the crowd dancing in the street (on top of a giant painted blueberry of course!!)
The Classic Car Show covers nearly four blocks as car owner's from all over Eastern North Carolina converge for one of the most popular events in the area.
Of course the star of the festival is blueberries, and there are plenty of blueberries for everyone. From pies and cakes, bushels and pints, dressings, jellies, and syrups, it'll be here. The Blueberry Festival is one of the highlights of summer in Southeastern NC.
