Downtown Stoneville - Henry (Old US 220) and Main Streets.

This small Rockingham County town along Old US 220 dates back to the early 1800s. It was named after the owners of a local general store, Thomas and Pinkney Stone. Another member of the Stone family, Rev. Francis L. Stone, was elected the town's first mayor. The town was incorporated in 1877.
