Triangle

TRIANGLE - Not to be confused with Raleigh and Durham's Research Triangle, Triangle is an Eastern Lincoln County community that has recently seen tremendous growth as a result of nearby Lake Norman.  The unincorporated community is named for the triangle that was formed by roads that ran through the area.  This place name sign is found on an old alignment of NC 16 - sandwiched between the two-lane Business 16 that runs through the community and the new four-lane Highway 16 that connects Charlotte to Newton, Conover, and Interstate 40.
